Has anyone tried gaining access through the front door? I mean has anyone tried the upfront professional formal letter asking for access to a building or property?
I am seeking access to an old military complex that is still under partial control of the US Army. Mainly office buildings now. But there is hundreds of abandoned manufacturing buildings. I am certain that I could spend multiple days shooting and exploring.

Yea, I tried to locate the owners for the Northridge Mall site, however my search came up fruitless. For my salvaging hobby on the other hand, I work with the demo companies, and I have permission to enter and remove what i want.

What? That makes no sense? Gay as in happy? or gay as in homosexual? Was that a statement?

good luck on getting access to Badger (where I assume that you're trying to get at).
I've known of people being fine while exploring there, but be careful. I've never been, nor do I care to, because of the felony part.
Asking permission is hit and miss, because if you're denied, getting caught while trespassing there is going to be a lot harder to explain away. Personally, I would only ask for permission if I was certain I couldn't find an alternative way in.

Asking for forgiveness is easier than asking permission.
