awesome, and welcome to the forums! Great to hear from new people, always one of the hardest parts of getting something new going.
well, this forum is less than 2 weeks old, so as for being a community, we're barely strung together right now, but keep popping in and I'm sure that we'll have something going sooner or later. I'll be sure to contact you sometime soon.
Anything else you need help with, ask here. We're more than happy to help.
On a side note, can I ask how you came upon the site?

New here too. I came upon this via Flickr. I'm very interested in some UE. I've done a little as a curious fellow, but never in an organized fashion or for photo purposes. I'm open to any tips or tricks of the trade and would love to hook up with some of you cats for some exploring.

Well, I'm a member of Photomob, a part of the conceptart.org site. One of the photographers on that site does a lot of great urbexing shots. I made a comment in his thread and he mentioned urbex, which was a new term for me. I started looking into it and here I am. I guess I assumed people did this stuff but I didnt know it was such a culture. I decided to make a flickr account and came across it there too. It seems if it's urbex and milwaukee, Shotgun Mario is all over it. I found a link to this forum in one of his posts. As far as actually getting down and dirty, I really havent done much yet. I've always been fascinated with old machinery and urban decay. I've gone through a few buildings in my time but nothing like the sites I see mentioned here and never with the intent to photograph, other than a building at work before they demolished it. I'm curious about Solvay and Peter Cooper for sure. I was out today looking for buildings in areas I suspect may be vacant and did swing by Solvay, but did not enter. here is a link to my flickr page www.flickr.com/photos/hookswords/

Well I don't wanna start a new thread so I'll say hello in this one.
"Hello!"
I'm not new to UE but wanted to beef up Mario's site. I believe we actually met up a few years back when "MwackySwift" organized that meet-n-greet at the diner on the east side (Remember that?)
I'm also on the UER site (of course).
I hope, this really picks up as I'm sick of UE'ing alone (does my breath stink that bad!?!??)
I live up in Ozaukee Co. as well. I look forward to meeting up with likeminded folks.

I was not there, as I wasn't exploring back then, but I know there were quite a few explorers back in the day. I think Junkyard knows MwackySwift, so you might have met him. Slim Jim used to explore milwaukee a lot, but he's only up in the cities for the most part now.
Yea, this site is really quiet, unfortunately. I've tried to organize stuff, but it just doesn't stick around the area, not enough people. I really only want to see milwaukee's underground anymore, as there's not much left topside any longer (which most people don't have the drive to go into drains, sewers, and such)

I hear ya!
It's sad that there's not much to see top side. I'm intrigued by draining but it's just not for my fat ass lol.
Well, hopefully things wake up eventually or we could get together for coffee sometime, who knows.
None-the-less, congrats on the site, if there's anything I can do to help let me know. I will check back here occasionally.

well, with such a small amount of people interested in UE, the site being less than a year old, having no previous exploring community beforehand, and it being winter, it's no surprise to me that it's like this. Might pick up next summer, might not. Who knows.

Hi- everyone I go to school in Milwaukee for theatre- I would love to do some urban exploring here in the city, but its too dangerous to go by myself- no one else at my college I have met is into it. I have already pushed the limits going into the Menomonee Valley alone at night. If you guys ever have a meet up I would love to know about it- or (even sweeter if someone was interested in showing me some places they already know about!!!)
Anyways glad to have found this little forum tucked away finally -
many thanks,
C
